We’ve got another jam packed half term from now until we finish for Christmas, filled with lots of activities for both pupils and parents. We will post any reminders and updates on Class Dojo so please make sure you are signed up!
Parent Workshops
As requested by parents in feedback at the last parent’s mornings, Mrs Tipping will be running SPAG workshops for parents. These will take place as follows:
Monday 15th November at 2:30pm – Year 5 and Year 6 parents
Friday 19th November at 2:30pm – Year 3 and Year 4 parents
Monday 22nd November at 2:30 pm – Year 1 and Year 2 parents.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
With the current COVID situation, unfortunately it will not be possible to have face to face parent evenings. We are putting plans together with regards to a remote version. It will still take place on Tuesday 14th December. More information will follow soon so please look out for letters in your child’s bag.
Health and Wellbeing Week
The week commencing 22nd November will be Health and Wellbeing Week in school. Please make sure children have their PE kits in school every day.
Assessment Week
Assessments of all our pupils in reading, writing, maths and SPAG will be carried out during the week beginning Monday 22nd November. Please ensure that your child is in school for these assessments, as they are very important.

Nativity Performances
The Year 2 nativity performance for parents will be held on Thursday 2nd December.
The Year 1 nativity performance for parents will be held on Thursday 9th December.
The Reception nativity performance for parents will be held on Wednesday 15th December.
Both of our nurseries will also be holding Christmas sing-a-longs and all parents will be invited
The Key Stage 2 Christmas Carol Service will be held on Tuesday 21st December.

Phonics Screening
All Year 2 pupils will be taking the National Phonics Screening Check, week commencing Monday 15th November. This was missed when they were in Year 1 due to the pandemic. In order to support your child in preparation for this test, please ensure that you listen to them read each night and help them to learn their spellings and any other homework that they take home.
Christmas Jumper Day
We will be supporting Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 10th December. Children will be asked to wear a festive knit and donate £1.00 towards charity.
Book Fair
Scholastic Book Fair will be in school during week commencing 29th November. Further information to follow.
Elf Run
On Friday 3rd December, our school will be holding its very own ‘Elf Run’ to raise money for Bolton Hospice. Parents are encouraged to join their children for the run. More information to follow shortly.
Odd Socks Day
To raise awareness for Mental Health we are taking part in Odd Socks Day. This also coincides with anti-bullying week. The children are being asked to wear bright, colourful odd socks on Monday 15th November. This is not to raise money, it is about raising awareness of how we are all different; unique!

Breakfast Club and After School Care
As you will know, the school runs a Breakfast Club each morning from 8.00am and all pupils are welcome.
Healthy breakfasts are provided. The cost of the Breakfast Club is £1.00 per day, which includes a breakfast and activities for pupils to take part in until school starts. If you would like your child to attend Breakfast Club, please contact the school office.
We are continuing to provide After School Care for children in Nursery 3 Year Olds to Year 6, which runs Monday to Friday, during term time. Your child can attend on an ad hoc basis provided that you have made the appropriate payment up front and the emergency contact form has been completed. Payment can be made via the SIMs Pay app (now known as Pay360).

End of Term
School will finish for the Christmas holidays on Tuesday 21st December at 2.00pm, and not 3.00pm, as usual. We look forward to welcoming the children back into school on Thursday 6th January 2022.
Christmas Lunch and Christmas Party Day
Christmas lunch for the children will be held on Friday 10th December and Christmas Party Day will be held on Friday 17th December.
If your child normally has a packed lunch but would like to join us for Christmas Lunch and a Party Day Lunch, please complete the reply slip below, and return it to school no later than Friday 3rd December. The cost of each lunch will be £1.80. Payment can be made via the SIMs Pay app (now known as Pay360).
