Dear Parents,

Welcome back! You’ll be pleased to know, we have another busy half term planned.

Firstly, just in case, here is another reminder of how to access information on school closures:

If you are uncertain whether or not school is open due to severe weather conditions, the school’s website will display school closure information and can be accessed via:www.leveredgeprimaryacademy.co.uk

The following local radio stations will also have the most up to date information regarding closures.   These radio stations will normally provide half hourly bulletins and will display the information on their website. The radio stations carrying closure information are:-

Tower FM    107.4 FM and DAB
Hits Radio   103 FM and DAB

Also, parents can check the Council’s website to find out which schools are closed. This information can be found at:www.bolton.gov.uk/website/pages/schoolclosures.aspx

School Photographs
John Hunt Photography will be in school tomorrow, Tuesday 25th February, to take photographs of the children in school and both of our nurseries.

We will photograph siblings together unless otherwise notified by parents.

World Book Day

This year we will be celebrating World Book Day as part of a Book Week. We have a number of different activities planned for the children to take part in during the week and some to involve parents too!

Parent Open Morning – Reading
We would love you to join us to find out a bit more about reading in the school and share a story with your child. These shared reads will take place from 9.00am on:

Tuesday 3rd March - Key Stage 2 Parents

Wednesday 4th March – Key Stage 1 Parents

Thursday 5th March – Reception Parents

On Thursday 5th March, which is National World Book Day, we are inviting children to dress as their favourite character from a book. This could be the beautiful Cinderella, trendy Tracey Beaker or the angry Mr Gum. There are many dressing up ideas on the World Book Day website: www.worldbookday.com

Assessment Week: 16th - 20th March

End of term assessments will take place during the week beginning the 16th March. Pupils will be assessed on their progress in Reading, Writing and Maths. The results of these assessments will be reported to you at the Parent/Teacher Interviews on the 24th March.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday 24th March when parents will be invited into school to discuss their child’s progress. In the meantime, if you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school office to make an appointment to speak to your child’s class teacher.
