On behalf of all the children, staff and Trustees, I would like to warmly welcome you to the Lever Edge Primary Academy website.

At Lever Edge Primary Academy, it is our mission to nurture and raise the aspirations, achievements and life chances of every pupil. We want all children to grow into confident, resilient lifelong learners who are able to achieve their full potential and lead happy, healthy and fulfilled lives, contributing positively to our community.

Lever Edge Primary Academy is a large two-form entry school with over 500 pupils across our main school and nurseries. For more than seventy years, the academy has served as an integral part of the Great Lever community, earning a strong reputation for providing excellent education. We are proud that Ofsted has recognised our high standards by grading us as Good.

Our Philosophy: Equality, Inclusion and Belonging

At Lever Edge, we believe that every child is entitled to an education that recognises their individuality, strengths and needs. Our commitment to equality and inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. We aim to remove barriers, celebrate diversity and ensure that all pupils feel seen, supported and valued.
We foster a culture where kindness, fairness and mutual respect guide our everyday interactions, and where pupils learn to understand and appreciate the differences within their community.

To support this vision, we provide a range of inclusive, nurturing spaces designed to help children thrive both academically and emotionally:

• The Thrive Hive – a dedicated space where pupils partake in small group interventions, including Attention Autism, to helping them to build focus, engagement and communication skills in a supportive environment.
• The Discovery Den – a creative, exploratory environment that encourages curiosity, problem-solving and imaginative learning experiences.
• Our Sensory Room – offering a calming, regulated environment for pupils who benefit from sensory support to manage their emotions and stay ready to learn.
• The Haven (our two-classroom SEN Unit) – a specialist provision that ensures children with additional needs receive tailored support, high-quality teaching and a nurturing space where they can learn, progress and feel a strong sense of belonging.

These spaces reflect our belief that inclusion is not a strategy—it is a culture.

High Expectations and a Rich Curriculum

We are committed to providing a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment with high expectations for behaviour, effort and personal conduct. Our pupils are happy, confident and encouraged to develop strong moral values such as courtesy, respect and kindness.

High-quality teaching and learning enable pupils to become active, engaged learners who make significant progress. Our broad, balanced and enriching curriculum ensures children develop academically, artistically and physically, while deepening their understanding of the world around them.

Working Together

Parents and prospective parents are warmly invited to visit the school, meet our staff and see our learning community in action. By working closely with families, we strive to ensure that Lever Edge Primary Academy remains a happy, supportive and inspiring place for every child.
